Crossing our toes!

I've only discovered the running blog community in the last 6 months or so and I find it very useful and inspiring...everybody (literally, every......body) is different and we all have to learn from each other what works to run well. The research is scant and often wrong.

Once of the people I follow, MissZippy, is dealing with a recurrent painful injury that keeps her from doing the (really fast..elite level) racing she loves.

ok, that's as good as I can do it!
Today it seems she's embarking on a long "reset" of her running style and form using more  minimalist shoe ideas. She's going to try to rebuild her muscles, bones, tendons (and neurons) to become a more resilient, stronger runner.
This is no small achievement. It will probably take her a full year to do it properly and they'll be no racing (or not much).

But what a boon for all of us! We get to share in the results this experiment and see what works and what doesn't.

So, in honor of her journey, I'm crossing my fingers AND MY TOES that it helps her get back "on track" enjoying the sport she loves!

  1. Wow, Paul! Thank you so much. It's definitely going to be a long, long road, but I'm looking forward to being a guinea pig so that I can share it with others.

    Have a great weekend!
