After the LA Marathon I was lucky enough to sit in on a shooting of "The Big Bang Theory" with "VIP" seats. I told you I was a nerd so really I enjoy this show. Don't get too excited...90% of the people in there had VIP seats....it's all about who-knows-who in LA I think.
Anyway, the warm up guy (who works like a dog making sure you all keep laughing your guts out even after the 3rd or 4th take) asked the question "If you could repeal one law, what would it be?". Many people said "Gravity" or "Prop 8", but I like the guy that blurted out "Murphy!"
don't you hate when that happens? |
I went for a 10 mile run on Wednesday which started out well enough, but then I became tired on the last 4 miles..had to slow way down to my recovery 10:30 pace. Ugh. It's not often I misjudge my running pace that badly.
The next day I started to feel a bit suspect and sure enough on Friday I had a developing sore throat and really tired. I went home to bed early and slept a ton and now (Saturday afternoon) I think I'm fending it off...I'm feeling better quickly but I'll take it easy until I'm 100%.
Getting sick a week before a race is ok, since you have to taper anyway, but not if your still sick or have lung congestion on race day. Grrrr.
The weather shows sunny every day until race day..then "chance of showers". Grrrrr.
Murphy is lurking.
Yeah that's a great law to get rid of.
ReplyDeleteI love Big Bang Theory - lucky you! I hope you're feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteEven gophers have karma I guess, or stupidity. I know Murphy's Law well.
ReplyDeleteupdate: weather is looking good for sunday now..8)
ReplyDeletecold is not too bad..not tip top yet but probably I'll be serviceable by Sunday.
@2slow: it's a beaver that won the darwin award. gophers are too smart to chop down trees. ;)
Take it easy and enjoy the enforced rest.
